Rutherford House Bed and Breakfast is around a 40 minute drive away from the Glentress centre and have many bikers stay with us. We have locked garaging for bikes and cycling gear.
Last weekend we decided to take some much needed fresh air and drove over to Roslin village. Here it is home to the infamous Rosslyn Chapel as well as the much visited and walked Roslin Glen Country Park.
The Chapel is open all year round and is most definitely worth a visit. It is nearly 600 years old and took over 40 years to build with stunning architecture. However last weekend we decided to walk through Roslin Glen which stretches along the North Esk river. It was once home to Scotland’s largest gunpowder mill but is now home to plenty of wildlife. If you are feeling energetic you can walk from Penicuik along the river right up to Dalkeith.
We however decided on the shortened version, however came away thinking that one of these days we will do the full stretch from Penicuik.
