accommodation policy & cancellation
Our standard arrival time is between 3pm and 8pm.
Please Note: Rutherford House provides bed and breakfast accommodation and our reception desk is not staffed 24hrs. If you would like to arrive out-with our standard check in times, please advise us of your arrival time in advance, to ensure that there is a warm welcome waiting for you.
Guests are required to vacate their rooms and return room keys by 10.30am weekdays and 11am at the weekends. We are happy to store luggage after these times by arrangement.
ParkingPrivate parking is available. Please let us know if your are bringing your car. From the A702, turn into Rutherford Gardens and take the first left into gravel driveway to car park. Please note: Parking is at the owners risk. Rutherford House cannot accept responsibility for any loss to, or damage from, vehicles.
Internet accessFree WiFi access is available, please ask for the access codes on your arrival.
Environmental Policy
• we select local food for our traditional Scottish breakfast (where available)
• we recycle all glass, plastic & paper waste
• we use low energy lighting where possible
• we encourage guests to conserve energy and only replace towels when requested
In accordance with government legislation, Rutherford House has a No Smoking policy: Smoking within the premises will result in a £50 cleaning charge.
PetsUnfortunately Rutherford House has a No Pets policy.
Payments
Full pre-payment or a credit card number is required to guarantee your reservation. Payment can be made by; MasterCard, Visa or Maestro. Credit Card payments are subject to an administration fee of 3.5%.
Cheque payments must be received in full 14 days prior to date of arrival.
Please note our cancellation policy is as follows:
In the event of a booking cancellation, we will always do our utmost to re-let the rooms. The full charge of your booking will be due if cancellation is within 7 days of arrival, (less any revenue from re-letting:) except the period from June to August, and at New Year and any rugby matches when we have a 14 day cancellation policy. A no-show will be charged in full.
All cancellations must be made in writing and acknowledged by us before any action can be made. We recommend you take out travel insurance just in case you have to cancel through something unavoidable. A non-refundable deposit equivalent to one night's stay is required for all New Year reservations.
We are happy to provide information on many local attractions and places of interest to make your visit more enjoyable. Our aim is to provide you with the high standards associated with a good quality hotel, whilst retaining the more informal atmosphere of a private home.
